Please bring on a kinder new normal

If one spends too much time watching the local news or reading the posts on social media, one would think that we are on the verge of civil war. Isn’t THAT an oxymoron!

I did see one quote that I want to share here:

“Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance on themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is…Life is good when you are happy; but much better when others are happy because of you.” (Pope Francis)

I hope and pray that we can resist the temptation to see our friends, family and neighbors who disagree with us as enemies. Let us turn from those who demean others, who stoke the embers of fear and hatred into a wild fire that consumes us all.

Please take the time to bring a smile to someone’s face today. Practice random acts of kindness. The world and your neighborhood will be all the better for it.
