Racial and Economic Equity

We’re living in a time of extreme racial and economic inequality made worse by COVID-19 and police brutality. For too long, big corporations and the richest 1% failed to pay their fair share while too many Minnesotans have struggled to get ahead and stay ahead. The greedy few rig the rules against working families, then try to distract us from their actions by using fear to divide people of different races and different places. The pandemic and the murder of George Floyd have laid bare the deeply rooted inequalities between our communities and neighbors, and the need for big changes.

Minnesota has one of the worst records of racial disparity. Peace and prosperity can be achieved by addressing the many contributing causes to these disparities. Too many doors are closed to the working poor, women and minorities in our culture because those who hold the keys to the door are not aware that the door is locked.
